Emotsionaalne väärkohtlemine jääb sageli varju ka seetõttu, et erinevalt füüsilisest väärkohtlemisest pole see silmaga nähtav. Ning kuigi hea vaimse tervise olulisusest räägitakse viimasel ajal palju, siis emotsionaalsest väärkohtlemisest väga mitte. Ometi on just sellel Eeva-Liisa sõnul inimese elule väga suur mõju, ka tema füüsilisele ja vaimsele tervisele.
